Any idea where I can purchase motor mounts for 63 dart GT (225/3.7L)

See this thread. Just got off the phone with Steve @ Imperial Services, who reports the first batch of urethane interlock-equipped '62-'66 A-body slant-6 engine mounts are being assembled and finished now, and will be ready for shipment around Thanksgiving. They will be costly, i.e., between $150 and $200 a pair, but they will be the last engine mounts you'll ever have to buy.

Or you can still sometimes find the 3rd-world garbage that needs replacement every couple years for around $15 apiece if you look hard enough...

I have used them with no problems, although they are only about a year old. Not everyone can justify $150 for motor mounts.

Hi Charrlie,

I did get a pair from these guys, and I have had problems getting/keeping them tight enough. These buggers are always slipping on me. I will be moving to the urethane models shortly, probably with the new engine that I need to start building.

Can anyone give a first-person report on urethane mounts in any application? Is there a noticable increase in vibration transmitted to the frame?

How are they slipping? Do the nuts come loose? I can't see how they could slip on the engine bracket. On the "K" frame the hole is slotted, and could slip if the nuts were loose.

Yup, they are slipping on the k-frame. My K-frame is powder coated, which probably is part of the problem. I have tightened them as much as I can, even using a cheater bar. I am tempted to try a dab of epoxy to hold them to the K-frame.

Do you have a large washer between the frame, and the nut? I haven't had a problem, and I just tighten with a 1/2 inch rachet

Try spreading some valve grinding compound between the parts that are slipping, then tighten as usual.

Do a search for MS35333 and MS35335. They are internal and external tooth lock washers.

Suppliers will have a chart with dimensions so you can determine which dash number is needed to complete the part number.

motormountz.com is how that site is spelled. I have a philosophical objection to buying parts from companies who can't be bothered to spell easy words correctly. This together with the rest of the many spelling and grammar mistakes on their page make it look like they're a bunch of not-very-bright 3rd-graders.

I also have a philosophical objection to putting forth the time, muscle, and effort to install garbage-quality parts — especially safety-related parts — such as $7 engine mounts made in Armpittistan. :-(

Hell, half the post on this site have spelling problems. At least they have mounts available. The mounts I got from them are made in India. The last ones I got from NAPA were made in India. The ones from "the Paddock" also India. As near as I can see they are all from the same manufacturer, so why pay the higher prices, when they all seem to be the same. If there were beter mounts available, that would be a different story. As you pointed out, the better mounts have not been, and will not be available untill the end of November 2007. A $7.00 mount is better then no mount at all, or a broken mount.
