Any of you know a source which shows the different valve covers used over the years on the slant six motors? Thank you.

I'm sure Doug's got pics. What do you want to know? All stock covers were stamped steel.

'60 only: Two round chimneys, one front (oil cap/breather) and one back (road draft tube). No dropdown at the rear. Ridges (think "Ruffles" potato chips) on the valve cover's top surface.

'61-'65: Same as above but with dropdown at the back for heater box clearance in '61-'62 A-bodies with 225 engine. Rear chimney used for road draft tube in '61 everywhere except CA, in '62 everywhere except CA and NY, in excepted locations & years + everywhere from '63 up for metal cup to hold PCV valve.

'66-'69: Same as above except rear chimney deleted and replaced with a 1" hole to accept a rubber grommet to hold the PCV valve.

'70-'80: All-new stamping. Ridges deleted. No chimneys. Cam-eared front hole (for twist-in oil cap), small centre hole (for PCV valve grommet), large rear hole (for breather grommet).

'81+: As above except modified bolt pattern for hydraulic-cam engine.

Post subject:  Valve Covers

Thanks Dan...When I made my recent purchase of the 63 Valiant, it also included an 18' trailer full of parts (engine and body) removed from several donor cars over the past 15-20 years. I ran across a couple valve covers and they looked different from the one on my 69 Valiant. I've read a lot of material over the past several months covering 225 heads, but I didn't recall much about valve covers. Your input has gotten me up to speed.
