Paging through my new Speedway catalog last night and I came across some small multi-disk setups that bolts to a flexplate (similar to newer Neon/PT setups?). Got me to thinking about my situation with McLoed dropping the SFI flywheel I need.

Anybody looked at these setups? I know the ones Speedway has are pretty much race only (not recommended to drive the car onto the trailer :) ), but are there others setups that might work? If memory serves, one was a Zoom clutch, and I know they sell a street multi-disk setups, so maybe the disks could be swapped?

BTW, they were like $400, w/ the flexplate.

Any chance one could be swapped onto a Mopar flexplate? Can you even get an SFI flexplate for a /6?

Just thought I would throw it out there.

Can you even get a flexplate for a slant that has a ring gear?

Cameron Tilley had a couple of special ring gears on flex plates made up to run quartermaster clutches like the ones you describe. Tried to sell one on Ebay to no avail. I may try this. He will have one behind his next Slant roadrace setup.

How? Are you going to have a special one made as well, or buy one from Cameron?

Any details on where he got his?

Any left? :)

Seems like someone might have mentioned this already, but I guess Wilcap will do custom flywheels.

They list a 273 flywheel with a 122 tooth ring gear for $275 in steel and $350 in Aluminum.

Shouldn't be hard to get them to move the one bolt that is off and make it work with a /6.

The standard one is listed with pressure plate patterns for 9 1/8", 9 1/4" and 9.5" B&B and Diaphragm clutches, don't know about the 10" I was looking to run.

Not sure about SFI approval, either.

Thanks for the Wilcap info. That one will definitely work with one hole moved and having different PP bolt patterns would be great.

EDIT - they actually list the Slant 6 just below the other V8s... 10" bolt pattern should be OK for certain 10" PPs.

Cameron has a super CNC guy down there - real artist. Think he made two and would likely sell one and/or make more. The clutch/PP and ring/flexplate weighs <20lbs altogether, IIRC.

Check this: http://tilleyracing.com.au/product-engine.php
