... and .020 thick for the factory steel shim head gasket but those are not that easy to find these days. DD |

d, i just got in 2 .020 shim gaskets, 1947578, 67+older and a 2843182, 68 and newer according to my parts books. other than the 1947578 being a greenish color metal and the pentastar is very detail stamped, they are identical. how much compression can they take? 12-1? will a felpro take more? or less? thanks, ron |

I run an estimated 10 - 10.5 on my steel shims no Problems there I use the arp Head studs for added safety. Greg |
