Right now I am getting people to gether to buy roller rockers from T&D in 1.6 or 1.5 ratio's. I dont think 1.7's are really needed whats your plan for them?

In two and a half weeks and I'm ordering mine. Let me know and we can go in togather and work down the price. This goes for all you reading this post. Lets get this thing started finaily.

1.5 is what I want, but if the group buy needs to be the same ratio and the majority wants 1.6, that will also work for me.

I think 1.7's were experimented with when RAS first started building rollers. IIRC, the adjuster screw had to be moved too far in to get the ratio and wouldn't hold up or something like that. :?

When you go to 1.7 rocker ratio, the adjuster screw and pushrod move closer to the rocker arm shaft and the pushrods hit on the edge of the head and block.
It takes a good amount of grinding work to get the clearance needed for 1.7 ratio arms.
It is not uncommon to have to do this type of grinding when using the 1.6 ratio but with those, you need less grinding clearance work, if any.

If you use any aftermarket rocker arms, plan to "mock-up" the parts and do not be surprised if you need to do some clearancing and/or geometry correction work.

In light of Doc's comments, you can take me off the list, if you were thinking of me as a "maybe". . This engine is together now, and I do not want to take it apart at this time, which might be required if I had to grind on the head. Sorry. Good luck on your project though.

My 1.6 rockers don't get close to the head, but they don't do much else either except look cool with the valve cover off. :?

I have had some engines where the 1.6 set went right on, and then the same set needed some clearancing work on a different engine. :?

In any event, everything needs to be checked so you don't have problems.
