When you bypass the egr valve do you just plug the ends the hoses come from and remove the egr? |

Yes, and leave the EGR there, or buy the block off plate and gasket. I paid less than #10.00 for both. EGR block off plate from the dealer # 3671447 lists for $5 Dealer item, p/n 3671 447, used with standard EGR valve gasket p/n 4173 167. |

Proceed carefully. Pull the hose off the EGR valve and plug the hose securely, then drive the car around to see if you get a pinging problem, before you more permanently eliminate the EGR. |
