In the fall of 1971 I purchased my first car, a 270 Dart 2dr. ht. 273 cid three on the tree with no power options for $1,075. That car lasted until it rusted out in the mid seventies, and had to be junked. Oddly, it still had its original clutch at 136K miles when decomissioned... Fast forward to Feb 14, 2008. I purchased my second 67 Dart. Now I have only owned 4 & 8 cyl Mopars, never a six. The 4's were those 2.6 L boat anchors which I still have one housed in a 82 Lebaron convertible purchased new, a 400 lean burn, and as of last year a 5.7 L Hemi. So, to now have a Slant Six powered ride is a bit different for me. This new addition is a yellow 67 Dart GT convertible, power disk brakes, PS. automatic, and a hopped up SL6 complete with 4bl, cam, headers, and dual exhaust. I am going to need some guidence as to how to figure just what has been done to it in hopes of squeezing out a little more performence. |

Thanks Ted. Just luck to find her just four hours away in running condition. I don't at present have the car at home, and did not think to bring a camera along with the check book. I won't have the car to play with for a few weeks becouse of crappy winter conditions here in the Pine Tree state. By mid March I will be able to drag it home, and the fun will begin. From what I could learn by inspecting the car it needs a set of emergency brake cables, driver's door latch post welded, an X pipe installed, repair the gas gage, and some rust repair on the floor pans. No big deal... As for the engine modifacations, I don't know the particulars other than the obvious manifold & carb changes, some type of cam up-grade has been done, and transmission tweeking with a reverse valve body set up so it can be shifted manualy. When I can put the wrenches to it I will learn enough to ask you folks a few questions. untill than I'm locating body parts, and a few new tools such as a set of feeler gages, something I haven't needed since the demise of my first car. |

sweet! mine doesnt have disc brakes, let alone power ones, its a hardtop with factory ac, i havent done much to my slant (yet) but i like the 67 darts quite a bit, granted im biased... is yours the same yellow or a brighter hue? welcome to the board!

Andy, I'm finding a lot of useful information from the various posts. Having had one of these cars for five years while masqueraideing as a poor collage student, I had many oppertunities to personaly wrench on every square inch of it. However that was 33+ years ago, and I'm a bit rusty as are the wrenches. Excuse me for being a bit Monkish, but I have to get use to how that odd slant plant looks in the engine bay... To answer your color question, it is a bit darker hue from a so-so repaint, but I think the car was origionaly yellow, with a black interior & top I suspect yours is closer to the origanal shade. But, what do I know about colors, I'm male, and according to my wife I'm color blind... I found a photo, but I can't get it to post, any tips? |

good, these guys know what theyre talking about, and alot of issues have been asked before, so reading old posts is a great way to get some info, im a poor college student now, i spent most of my money in hs on mine, its at home now while im driving a beater 77 amc hornet, its interesting to switch from a slant to that as well...mine has a white interior, front seats at least are getting new vinyl eventually(once i pay off student loans, bleh...) it looks pretty nice in black, so i may switch when i do that...as for the picture, try right clicking on the pic and select 'copy image location' then in a post click the 'Img' button, then paste the address you copied before, then hit the 'Img' button again good to see another 67 gt still going, at home i know a guy who has a 67 270 in his back yard, he wont part it out and i dont know that theres enough left to warrant his price, its the same color as mine and is a 2 door, it makes me sad to see it out there |

sharp looking car, mine doesnt have the hood side scoops or whatever the technical name is, i just have the standard wheels and hubcaps as well, any shots of the engine? ![]() (try 'copy image location' then paste it in and get rid of whatever it says after '.jpg' this one said 'rev=1' or something) |

The hood is from a 68' or 69' GTS. GTS became a sub model of the GT in 68. 1969 was the last year for that body stile. No engine pictures, that is the full album for now. The wheels may be from a 70' Challenger, I'm not sure. The 67' Darts came with steel wheels with several different wheel covers offered depending on model. As for the "copy image location" I don't get that choice with a right click. |

ive seen another 67 with those wheels and disc brakes on ebay, looking forward to following your progress! im looking forward to getting mine fixed up, maybe turboed...i thought that it was the same wording to get the location of the pic, but maybe not(i run ubuntu linux 99.999% of the time instead of windows) |
