Hello folks,

After getting inspired by the Jan 8 thread re. O2 sensors and A/F gauging, I decided to get some parts and play with them. Problems have arisen with some suggestions about the parts that lead me to seek a piece of clarity.

First, it was recommended, among other sensors, to use one for a '92 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4.3l. Prices were close enough on the web and at my local Carquest that I got the Carquest one, Oxy 751569 but it cost $62, not $32, and its associated bung (GOE 4962 was $5.00 more. Ouch, but it takes what it takes.

I got this sensor because it was a known to work one and because I decided to go 4 wire narrow band. I realize I could get a cheaper one wire or 3 wire, but wanted a 4 wire. Then I went to gauge it up.

Second problem arises: My understanding now is that ALL digital gauges, or gauges with a digital numerical or LED readout are wideband, and no numerical readout (which I want) gauges are available for narrowband. It was suggested to me look at the Autometer 3775 (digital) and I liked its look until the above compatibility issue arose. SO, the Autometer 5775 is not digital, but costs $60 delivered.

Does anyone know of a A/F gauge that will mate to a 4 wire narrowband sensor and present its readout in numbers? Hopefully for less than $60, but again it takes what it takes. And is it true narrowband ONLY does non-digital readouts?

Thanks,
rock
