Which transmission fluid should I use? My '64 904 just got back from a rebuild and I've almost got her reinstalled in my daily driver /6 '64 Valiant. The book calls for Type A (still available), the instructions with the transmission say Dexron II for all Chrysler transmissions, and Dexron III was all I saw at the two parts stores I checked. dobie79423@yahoo.com |

I have used only type F in mine since I rebuilt it 4 years ago. The Dextron will not have as high a co-efficient of friction as the type F and you will get a smoother shift out of it, but using type F you will get a little bit more of a snap out of the shifts. the best part is if you don't like the way either one performs just change the fluid. dbjerklund@hotmail.com |

You can use Dextron III from the parts stores, or Type F. Fopar is right about the trends. Lou madsenl@caltech.edu |

Its blue in color and seems thinner than the red stuff we all are used to. I dont know if it is any good in a Torque Flight. Anyone have any experience with this stuff?? MrSlant@pacbell.net |
