I have what I think is a stock cam that came in this 225 I am putting togeather.

the markings on the cam are:

Between #1 ehx and #1 int lobes 01 (180degrees from there) D1
Between #1 int and #2 exh lobes 436
Between # 5 exh and #6 int C17

My max lift at the pushrod is
Intake 0.248
Exhaust 0.258

Those are all the numbers I could find on the cam

My degree readings. All readings are at 0.050"

IVO 12 ATDC
IVC 22 ABDC

EVO 151 ATDC
EVC 21 BTDC

Is this where it should be? My goal is fuel economy, with decent power.
This will be a 2bbl bbd super six engine, stock bore, head shaved 0.100" for 9.2:1 compression.

Thanks for any help.

Wow, that's very similar to my specs and what I'm wondering as far as degreeing as well. I look forward to riding your coat tails on this post.

Thats cool. I have been following the other thread too. I used the procedure on the crane cams page.

I am using a cheepo SA gear and chain set so I have zero confidence that the "dots" are in the right spots.

Id run more cam than that......its a stock cam

With your compression you could run at least a 260 adv duration cam without sacrifcing anything.

Im running a 280/270 adv dur with just over 10:1....with a super six. It is very streetable.

With 8.6:1 I ran a Comp 264 and it felt lazy.

I understand it is a stock cam. Unfortunately until I become employed again the budget just wont allow it. I am just trying to optimize what I have as I have much more time then money at this point.
