It's my understanding that the small block V8 throwout arm will work in a slant bellhousing (correct?), but will the SB V8 Z bar for a 10.5" clutch work as well? I was thinking of getting a new Z bar from Brewer's Performance if I can't find a junkyard Z bar and gusset it for more strength (not that I think it'll be an issue, but I've heard of them warping when using a 10" clutch). For the crossmember, will I be able to use the same crossmember that my Duster has for the 904 (and how about the transmission mount itself?), or will I have to source a different one? And last of all for now, I like the style of the pistol grip shifter handles. Would I have to fab up my own, or is there one available that can be used in an A-body non-console application (bench seat)? |

You should alway use the fork and fork post that originally came with the bellhousing. Others forks can be swapped-in with careful attention to details, like how the tips contact the TO bearing pads and how the fork body clears the BH access window. The bell cranks (Z-bars) are different. The trans cross-member is the same. DD |

Will keep that in mind. I'm hoping I can find the whole schmear from a donor car with a slant and just beef up the necessary parts (like the Z bar), but if not, I'm going to try to source new parts.Quote: The trans cross-member is the same.
How about the mount? Not that it's hard to find a new mount, but I would like to have a new one on hand in case I discover it needs to be different DD |

| Post subject: | JoPapa, I have a perfect Z bar with new bushings |
HEllo, Iam unloading leftover parts from my 833OD conversion. I used a hydraulic pull slave instead of the Z bar so have a basically new Z bar (Mopar) with new bushings still in the Mopar bag. I bead blasted it and painted it with POR15 black. RU interested in it? PM me if so. Of course I have duplicate sets of hydraulic slaves, throwout bearings, master cylinders and braided steel line, if you want to try hydro. Spare forks, too, both kinds. rock 64d100 |
