Quite a while back this message appeared on the board, and I just wanted to update it as an FYI to anybody needing a Cloyes Double Roller chain setup for their slant. -Original Message- For the double roller timing chain set from JP Performance (http://www.jp.com.au/Performance.html), call the Cox Brothers (wonderful folks to deal with) 614- 268-9920, FAX 614-268-9930 or Australian Muscle Parts 562-428-9764. For the Cloyes set contact your local NAPA dealer. Cloyes Parts Numbers- sprockets: S338 and S339. Chain: C168 --Walt Jackson I ordered the parts from NAPA and they came back and told me those parts actually come in a kit. The number on my box is 168SA-7 and it fit like a glove on my 225, BUT the dots were off and I had to drill it to install a 4 degree bushing to get my cam to the 106 spec I needed. Just to let everyone know you don't have to order 3 separate parts any more. -D.Idiot res0aus2@verizon.net |

Using Doc's list of sprockets I originally tryed to order those parts individually, the clerk came back that his 'vendor' reports that they come as a kit. The only markings on my box say 168SA-7. The people at my local Napa have been very good and patient to get the 'specialty' parts I need to build up my slant. Maybe they should check for the part number under the 'Echlin' (aka 'blue catalog') or under AVCO automotive products... At least you didn't try to ask them for an 8 1/4" rear diff rebuild kit... -D.Idiot res0aus2@verizon.net |

A complete idiot., (no offense) Anyhoo, I think I will try a couple more stores until I find someone who knows how to look up parts. 63GT MoparBrat63@aol.com |

D.Idiot, That would be greatly appreciated. I have another NAPA store researching the #'s. they said they will call me tomorrow. This set and a header and I'll have all my stockpiled goodies gathered to begin buildup over the winter. Following all of Doc's articles, I've decided to bracket race next year. Thanks, Drew-- 63GT MoparBrat63@aol.com |
