The dash setup is a good no-cut workaround, but the speakers are really too close to get stereo separation.
One in the dash and one is the package tray is easy, but it's like you're sitting sideways to the music!
I had a couple of small speakers mounted on brackets under the dash, in front of the vents, until my son needed them more than I did. That worked well for me, but I'm not really an audiophile.
The original dash speaker is toast. I went back to the factory AM radio (Valiant Transaudio!) and one small speaker mounted to the firewall/transmission hump area - probably not what interests you.
