I got an email saying these are on sale but it doesn't tell you the regular price? I think thats a good deal, I've seen them go for over $175 used on Ebay.

I would say if they have them in stock, and you want one you had better buy it. I bet when they have to restock them the price goes up becuase they are listing for $400.00 now.

I got one that is literally NIB, I it got for $240 about a year ago. I guess it's about what the rising cost should be.

Not very descriptive though on what the "required" $90 installation kit is. Is that the carb adaptor plate (think I read you need one for these) or is it just gaskets and stuff I wonder?

I'm really interested if anyone has run one of these with something like the Holley 390 cfm carb and what kind of mpg they are getting?

I've got a stock '71 Dart with 904 and 3.21 gears with 225/60/14's. Just wondered if this was just a power thing or I could use it to get a bit more omph, but pull in better mpg while cruising around than the 1 barrel holley on it now.

The installation kit is a goofy piece of linkage that I am not completely sure what it does. I have one new in the package if anyone needs it.

I think it's the kickdown linkage for early, well, something - I'm not sure just what the application list is.

Kickdown linkage I would imagine. The description for just the intake says that kit is required if you have an automatic, but not if you have a manual.

Ah, must be something to do with a note I saw on another site about if you have an automatic. Some sort of kick down adaptor or some such perhaps. Probably just as easy to buy one of those lokar cables I keep seeing.

Might go ahead and post a new topic on mpg with the 390 and see what happens.

I imagine its the same kit as on offyparts.com, they have the same part #.
"5270 kit is for standard trans only. If you have a cable operated carb linkage with automatic trans then order #5270-A. This is a kit only and must be ordered separately from manifold."
5270-A-Linkage Kit for Barracuda Quad Manifold with Cable Operated carb and Automatic Trans.
This looks to be the same manifold as on offyparts.com but it looks like you get the adapter plate there, the price is $390.

There is also a throttle adapter that allows the stock cable throttle, if so equipped, to get full range of motion out of the primary butterfly.

An absolute must!

For kick-down, get the Lokar if you can swing it. A very good piece. You will need a mounting bracket for the Lokar cable at the carburetor. Get the one with the throttle return spring. It works very well.

Well I have been chatting to someone at Summit about this intake and it looks like it's the same one as on Offyparts.com, adapter incl.
"It has the plate that accepts either Holley, or Edelbrock carbs."
I have heard that the adapter plate is hard to get but Summit sells them for $26. They also said this is the regular price at $267. Sounds like an awesome deal to me! I hope this helps someone out.
