Post subject:  Rocker Shaft Spacers Needed

In building up my 225 I have a couple of rockers that are not quite lined on the valve stems. The stock spacers are not worn but still there is a fair amount of play up and down the shaft. 1. Where can you get spacers or shims for the stock assembly? 2. How much play should the rockers/shims have on the shaft?

I just go to the junkyards and grab some extras. I make sure to get a few of the wider center spacers which can be ground down to fit other locations. Also note that some of these have a longer / larger "bump" which can be positioned to center-up the tips to the stems.

One other way to do this is to contact Rocker Arm Specialists, they have "shaft washers" which can be used to take-up the slop.
