I am new to this site and new to working on cars all together, so any tips would be appreciate (see profile). I decided to bulk up my 225 slant six. I did some research and got a super six setup from the bone yard. I figured since im replacing the intake, why not replace the exhaust manifold and go to one that i could convert to the turbocharging system. i dont know much about turbocharging, just that it takes the exhaust fumes and puts them back into the intake, and a guy with a 170 valiant runs 14's on the system. can someone give me more info on the mechanics of it and how to rig it up?? also i saw on another site that someone here sells an exhaust manifold that is an easy setup for a 2.2L turbo and dual exhaust? can i get more info on that?? and is there a site out there that can help me see if i got all the right linkage for the super six setup?? Thanks alot BillMamary redtwig898@aol.com |

Check out the howstuffworks.com turbo article that I linked below. : :can someone give me more : info on the mechanics of it and how to rig : it up?? Check out turbocharging articles in the articles section of this site. Also search turbo on this site. : :also i saw on another site that : someone here sells an exhaust manifold that : is an easy setup for a 2.2L turbo and dual : exhaust? can i get more info on that?? That's the Dutra Duals...Doug will probably email you soon...but I don't know if duals are the easiest way to go for a turbo, unless you're doing dual turbos! : : is there a site out there that can help me : see if i got all the right linkage for the : super six setup?? Thanks alot BillMamary Try a search on super six kickdown, I think there was someting about it on here. If you don't have the rod for the super six kickdown, check out some of the other ideas on here, like rigging a bicycle cable for kickdown, etc. Howstuffworks turbo article pwd22@drexel.edu |

Amother thing i forgot to add is that, for now, i dont want to mess with internal parts of the engine. i just want bolt-on power. i was even kicking around the idea of nitrous. does anyone know how i would set this up?? Eventually i will bore it out and put in all performance components, but for now i dont want to mess with the internals. Thanks again BillMamary redtwig898@aol.com |

hello bill I run a turbo on a stock 225 six. I also can make a stock exhaust manifold with a turbo flange for the 2.2 lite turbos. I simply cut the heat riser off and welded a small extention with a turbo flange. As for the way the turbo works, it has 2 sides one the intake and one exhaust. The exhaust does not go into the intake but the exhaust gases are used to spin the impeller this intern turns the intake side which then pressurises your intake. There is alot more to this but you should reserch this alot more! andrew wagner Quote:

I would do a little reading in the articles section of this site and use the search function for even more stuff. Here is a pic of a NOS system on a SL6 and a link to some infor on the cast iron dual exhaust. DD Dual Exhaust Link
