Hey all,
I'm considering buying a Valiant as a parts car for my Duster (long story).
Anyway, I won't need the engine, and I was thinking I could resell to offset some of the cost of the car. I know this is a pretty weak idea if the engine was a 225, but it's a 198.
Do these 198s have any value? I haven't seen any for sale, but that could be because of rarity or absolute uselessness.

Mostly stock... but getting better all the time!

these engines have value for select people. The 198 rods are a sought after item to build unique stroker motors, so Its worth (whole motor) at least $300.00. I'm sure others will chime in.

Well it's worth something. I guess the MOST valuable parts would be first the rods, these are needed to build the "long rod" 225, for now. It seems that an after market supplier is getting in to the swing of building "after market" 198 rods, so they may not be worth as much in 6 months. The only other part of the engine that is different then a 225 is the crank. This crank can be used to build a stroker 170, but I don't know how much demand there is for that.
