It's only when I turn right and it comes from the steering wheel. I have a 70 Duster with a three gear autmatic with the shift lever on the tree. it sounds like it comes from somwhere around the lever or just under the horn switch.

Could it be a bearing or something. Not a noise when i turn left, and the wheel is smooth.

Also, if I turn fully to the left and then begin to turn right, the noise apears just after the wheels turn over to the right.

Anyone who's had this problem?

Have you pulled the steering wheel recently? Like to replace an ignition switch or turn indicator return?

I have the same noise, but both directions - only at lower speed and unlevel ground - yeah I know it sounds weird!

Have you checked the gap between the steering wheel and the column?
