I have a 64 dart with a pionts dist., I am adding a offy intake with a 450cfm holley and a new exhaust system ( Manifold back) this weekend and wondering if I would notice the difference with a electronic dist. If so what is needed to switch it over
Thanks for the input

Some responses on this site could be a little more inviting and forgiving. If it is a burden to "chat" just don't respond. I feel it a plus when there is new people joining and showing interest in this hobby, lust, obsession etc...
I recently asked a question on a Mercedes chat forum and got shut out. Perhaps my Mopar colors bled through the internet. At any rate should there have been any courtesy I would have returned to it, fat chance now.

When I converted my 64 Dart to an electronic ignition it seemed to run a little smoother. Now keep in mind it also could have been much of wishful thinking on my part. What I did notice is the reliability, without the added maintenance. It was stock other than that. I once had to drive it a complete winter here (got to 20 below too) without a hitch, fired up everyday. I will admit on the extremely cold nights I had a low wattage bulb, in a drop light, in the engine compartment.

There are many useful articles and opinions you can view from the search.

hello bigtex,
this would have to be one of the most discussed topics on this board.
the search function will reveal many treasures of information, but if you want to discuss the finer points, feel free.
do'nt be discouraged by blunt replies, some people are like that.
to get you started, you will need one of these and a switching module, something like this .
there are various types of modules around, and all do basically the same job, just differing installation wiring.
now there is some good reading in this article
have a read and then after you have studied 'er up a bit,and worn out the search function on the board, ask the gurus for answers to stuff you ca'nt find.
hang in there my friend,we do'nt bite - really.

 regards,Rod
:D

and see here for a basic wiring diagram.

and here is the shortcut to SS Dans installation:
