Post subject:  Carb Dip

So I got my Carter BBD in the mail today and was wondering the best way to clean it. So what is the best way to clean it? I'm going to rebuild it with a NAPA rebuild so should I dip it first? or should I use carb cleaner spray? Should I take off parts and dip? or just do the whole thing? Thanks a lot.

Post subject:  Get the kit...

Take it apart and put plastic and misc small parts in a plastic container/ cup... You can then either get a gallon metal bucket and a gallon of paint thinner, or get a bucket and strainer at NAPA with some 'carb dip'...

You will also want to have access to an air compressor and nozzle or some canned air at worst to blow out the passages to make sure there's no gunk in the holes...

don't put any rubber parts in the dip. if u have metal parts where the rubber doesn't seperate, don't dip it. be REAL careful with plastic parts. some of those dip chemicals can render ur parts unrecognizable.
