hello sl6 sages-this follows up my earlier inquiry about the rusted out backdeck tire holder in my 77aspen wagon . have had no success in finding a non rusted piece of sheet metal for the back nor a welder willing to tackle said job.theyall are defeatists who say give up junk the car and buy a computerized teardrop wedgemobile with superfat impossible todo yourselfrepair costs. its like these new breed of folks think one who would dare like to fix their own tanks should be locked up as a traitor to the upper crust- been there and met too many crumbs. well i think you are tired of hearing me snivel so here is the scoop- how difficult is it to pound out a piece of sheet metal torch out the deck pan and weld in the new piece without taking on a 2d mortgage. seems to me like a mig or stitch welder could do it. need some help sixers- the enemy is closing in and i am down to my last clip. thanks tons. callpaladin@aol.com callpaladin@aol.com |

I have a few of these cut from earlier cars. I am sure you could trim it / fit it, caulk and pop-rivet it into place. Measure the size of the opening, I'll shoot you an email. DD Quote:
