| Post subject: | Roller Paint Job Started......cool |
update..... body work finished last weekend. i started the roller paint job yesterday. if any of you havent heard of this, see hotrod magazine's falcon , or moparts thread on this subject. the first coat looks pretty darn good, i think it may have been a little too thick because there were very few runs. second coat goes on today, i did not mask ANYTHING and did not not make a mess !! im using rustoleum satin black, and thinning w/oderless mineral spirits. i think i will sand every two coats because of the lack of major runs. this is more labor intensive, but carefull application will return nice results........cost for entire project |

| Post subject: | DONE...well, sort of.......... |
i put on 3 coats, and wet sanded once. then i used rubbing compound on entire car followed by a coat of cleaner wax. final results- not bad, my wet sanding sux, but its a rat rod, so considering the $50 price tag, im happy. also put my new caps on the slots. reinstalled all trim, bumpers, etc. i just drove it about 10 miles and back, gets lots-o-looks ![]() now, thats a grill ![]() cranked the torsions bars a little more spray bombed the wheel wells for a clean look

That is a nice ride. I like the wheel and tire combo ! The interior looks really bitchin' to ! Have you had the chance to drive it much with the four barrel ? Sounds like your happy with it so far, keep up the good work ! |

Looks great! Keep it up. Any chance we'll see you at Pittsburgh this coming weekend for the Slant Race? Greg and the boys will be putting on a nice feed and it should be a great time. Very nice folks and some cool cars coming. I'm driving up from Blacksburg, VA in my '68 Dart. Lou |

mbiz.......ive havent driven it alot yet, but so far its running good w/4bl. ive no way to tell if the motor has had work, but i doubt it. 3.23 gears help it out of the hole, and i havent even tuned it or set valves, or changed from points to electronic ignition yet. Lou, this saturday morn my family and i will be leaving for wyoming for vacation, so i wont make the pa race. i would however like to be at the chrysler classic at norwalk in sept . the lancer needs brake work and a complete tune up before i would trust it to run down the track, or even drive that far. |
