I have started to race my duster and should have posted my times sooner but never did. I started at the redding race in may with a one barrel carb and 3.23 gears, it started in the twentys and got down to 18.71 with a 2.8 60 foot, a good starting point.

The second outing was at medford orgeon, a 500 mile drive to get there, this time i had put on a holly 600 and clifford intake, also had to put in a junk yard trans just to get the car drivable for this race. It ran in the twentys again when the trans would shift whenever it felt like it was ready, i started to manually shift at this point out of agravation and preceded to run the fastest the car had ever run with a 18.58 with a 2.7 60 foot. It was at this race i realized that the intake needed to have some stuff machined out of the bottom to clean up my fuel distribution problem, it was fouling the 1 and 6 plugs pretty bad.

My latest outing was at redding again and have added a 2 1/2 inch spacer under the card and got the intake cleaned out and added a 4.10 sure grip also pulled the exaust and ran it straight out the header. The first run of the day was a shock and only got better, this is still with the bad trans but will have that changed soon.

First run .2 reaction
2.57 60 foot
11.39 1/8 at 61.4 mph
17.76 1/4 at 76.97 mph

Best run .07 reaction
2.485 60 foot
11.17 1/8 at 61.8
17.50 1/4 at 77.12

I had been hitting the tree really well on saturday, had a .003 light, but at the semi final against Pat i hit red by.06 had to happen sometime. Well the second time came way to fast! The first round i staged and when i loaded the converter the car creaped a little and stopped i didn't think to much about it cause i was staring at my light I light the red by .007 and ran within 5 hundreths of my dial, the car i ran against ran 5 tenths slower than his! I am getting better and faster and enjoy the atmousphere at the races i am glad to be a part of this!

Getting quicker!

I cut a CD to send to Allen Dutra for Editing that has your launch during the inliner races Saturday. Can't see much though. Hopefully he can do something with it.

Here's you turning the new gears for the first time. How are they working out on the street?

They work great with all the stop and go around town! It will go about 60 at 3000 rpm but that is plenty as i don't drive on the freeway to much with it. Thanks for the vidieo and let me know if Allen figures out the other one i would definatlly like to see it :D

Well had another fun time at medford! Had a scare on the first test and tune when the car tryed to launch but the throttle cable broke and shut it down, i didn't think it would be fixable but it turned out to just need a little more wrench on the bolts.

The car ended the weekend with its best run
60 foot 2.4
1/8 mile 11.08 @ 62.2
1/4 mile 17.44 @76.69

I had to do alot of jet changes to finally get the car all the way down the track without poping and boging. I will have to go threw the fuel system and put in an electric pump and that should help with my fuel starvation.

I am also going to try to hit 16's at sac this weekend so i got some tuning to do as of yet and some weight reduction!

Congrats on the new best! :D :D

You should not even be close to needing anything more than a stock pump. Lou and I have both been deep into the 14's with a stocker.

Thank you, I have heard from a few people that the stock pump should hold to those levels, i will go thru the system and check all the lines and conections to see if there are any restrictions and change the filter but after that if it still runs out of fuel ill have to resort to the electric pump. I also plan to hit it with nitrous when i get it running in the low 16's or high 15's so it would problly be best to get it changed out now. Definatlly addicted to the slant now!

It would be best to find the real problem now and not just band-aid it with an electric pump, especially if you are going to the hose.

You think you're hooked up now, just wait until you feel the hit of nitrous.

Here is one of my runs, i lost but it was only by .02 overall. I held second too long but other than that it ran good!

http://feat.putfile.com/flow/putfile.sw ... i-Ram-1500

The fastest time i ran was as follows
60 foot 2.4
1/8 mile 10.98 @ 62.4
1/4 mile 17.28 @ 77.47

Now for the off season and some minor changes should return next year faster!

Well i have almost gotten into the 16's. I ran at the final wensday night race at sac and this is what it ran, love the cool air!

RT 0.067

60FT 2.33

1/8 10.78 @ 62.9MPH

1/4 17.07 @ 77.08MPH

Should have the tourque converter soon and then the new trans will go in and then the real fun begins!

I saw that run! My dad said he really liked the way your slant is set up, and he told me to do mine that way. I was already planning on it anyway!

Well thank you for the support it feels good! The only thing i would do diferant is the comp ratio, i am running 8.4 to 8.5 to 1 but i plan to super charge the engine. I feel like i have pushed the engine to the limit with the mods done to it now, 17's 16's without the charger on a 30 over stock block and a very mild cam 425 lift. It does look good but i feel it could run better.

You need some fiberglass bumpers. You'll break into the 16s with them.
