I have a 1974 Dart and I have alwas loved the look of the spoiler on the rear. I just purchased a spoiler for my dart and I was wondering if anyone here could give me advice on how to set it on the trunk. I want to make sureI am going to put it in the right area. I don't want the spoiler to high or too low... Does anyone here have a picture of their spoiler ? Thanks in advance. |

Considering spoilers aren't really beneficial until you reach around 170 miles per hour I don't think you will find many folks with them on their slant powered car. Spoilers on street cars are purely for looks. Mount it where you think it looks good. |

I do not agree with the way that statement reads. Yes they are for looks, but when was the last time you saw any mopar over 170 MPH on the streets? People put them on their big dollar cars for the same reason people put them on their slant six cars. Becuase they look awesome. I do not think people say "I really like the look of the bigger rear tires, hood scoop and rear spoiler, but it is just a slant six, so I do need that stuff." Maybe I am just different but my current slant six underpowered Duster doesn't really look much different then the way I set my big block aluminum headed Dart Sport or my 1968 440 GTX. Its the way I like my cars to look, regaurdless of engine. My big block Dart Sport doesn't need the snorkel hood scoop or rear spoiler any more then my Duster does, but they both look a lot better with them. I had one on my previous slant underpowered machine (1974 Duster). In fact I put them on all of my 1970+ Mopars (except the 1968-70 Dodge Chargers). I love the looks of them. |

And I stand by that statement. If you are putting a spoiler on a street car it is for looks. Put it wherever you want. Asking someone else where you should put it is a bit like asking "what color should I paint my car?" It is entirely up to you.

You'll just have to do your best in putting it on (some kits used to have locating templates for drilling the holes)... 1972 was the last year that was a factory option for the Duster/Demon I think... the deck lids had a set of 'knockouts' in the reinforcement webbing to make installation easier... -D.idiot |
