Post subject:  kick down lever position for a drag car

OK.....so I know I need to wire open the kick down lever for te 904, I have no kick down linkage.....so how far should I wire it open? all the way?

Start with 3/4 open as you test around home. (lever pushed rearward)

Make sure you use strong wire, the pressure in the gearbox gets higher as you rev the engine up, that will want to push the lever forward.

If the trans shifts early and soft, pull the lever back more.
At the track, you will likely try it pulled all the way back, just to see how the WOT shift points act.

I used a PTO cable with a locking devise so I can push it in on the return road and pull all the way out when racing.
