I understand the venerable DD occasionally resides here. I am less than a day away from taking possession of a car I believe he helped to create. It's a '67 barracuda notchback with a fairly well built /6. The engine build-up was a subject of a Car Craft article in November of 1999. The car has a bit of bondo but is in pretty good condition otherwise, and I love the idea of a /6, 4-speed, bench seat 'cuda coupe. Is there anything I should know about this car before I hand over my money? Or just some further history perhaps? Thanks a ton. Mike Kastelz mkastelz@earthlink.net |

That car has some good parts with it but Matt did not spend the time to get everything working well. How much are they asking for this Cuda?? DD |

Pleased to meet you sir. It is indeed Matt's old ride, and it does have the 3.91 8 3/4 in it. Also a Clifford intake and exhaust, and judging by the Car Craft article the seller sent me, a seriously worked head. The front and rear seats have been recovered, it has a new dash pad, and the seller has a new headliner in a box. The body *looks* straight, but has some bondo in the rear fenders and one of the front fender "nose" pieces. All the trim is there except for the lower trunk piece. (It seems ALL the '67's are missing this piece). The seller was asking $3000, I've agreed to $2400. S'right? Thanks for your interest, Mike It looks to me like the mods were done right. Quote:

Hey, everyone else, feel free to comment, question, ridicule, etc. I only addressed the post to Mr. Dutra because the Car Craft article mentioned him as providing a bunch of expertise. I didn't mean to exclude the rest of the group. I'm pretty excited about picking up this car. I love the looks of the 2nd gen Barracuda coupe, and the slant/4-speed/bench seat combo is just too cool. Have a good weekend, Mike Quote:
