When I swap my A904 out for the A833, will it be necessary to get a longer driveshaft (or shorten the one I have), or will I just be able to swap on the new slip yoke for the 833 and be good to go? |

If you have an A/F body 833 you'll just have to change yokes. |

More than likely yes, but depending on the year of the tranny (like certain late 70's A-833 OD's) you may be able to use the A904 yoke (straight A-833 will be the other yoke like D says...) -D.Idiot |

Anything goes... there are some A-230 boxes from the mid-70's that are splined for the A-727 yoke... I have a 1978 A-833OD Tranny (and a 1975 Iron case tranny... they both seem to 'fit' with the yoke from the 1967 A-904 tranny...)... I also have a couple of 1976 A-833 OD boxes that take the A-833/727 yoke... so it's pretty hit and miss, with junkyard parts sometimes... pull the yoke count the splines and if it's a 'go' then that's one less change for you to have to make... -d.Idiot |
