Hi Folks,
I would be interested in knowing if any of you have any recommendations for a good clutch/pressure plate assembly. This will go into a 72 swinger that will see some drag strip use. Any comments from your personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I am using a factory 10 inch set-up with 2600 - 2800 psi of spring pressure. It has worked well for mostly "performance street" use.

There must be some other SL6 manual shifter out there, what are you using?

Doug,

Do you have to specify the 2600-2800 spring pressure when ordering? Or is that what the heavy duty 10" Pressure plate comes with standard?

Thanks for your help.

It used to be that the higher spring pressure units were listed that way in the catolog. I would see a listing for the 1600-1800 psi unit (had a total of 9 springs in it) and a different listing for the 26-2800 psi cover. (12 springs total)

Last time I ordered, there was only one p/n listed and it had 9 springs, my local clutch rebuilder up-graded it to a 12 spring unit for me.

Thanks Doug for all your help.

Since there has been no responses to the questions we posed to everyone about what clutch setups they are using. I must assume that all slant 6 cars except mine and yours now have automatic transmissions in them! That should mean great parts availability for us, and cheap prices too!! Ha! Ha!
