is there a possible way of doing this without using a torque wrench my filter seemed pretty clogged up and its slipping in d 1 2 and and not engaging.. dave

nvm it apears my kick down band is broken into 3 pieces :shock:

You have more problems then the kickdown band. The band is only applied in 2nd gear. Sounds like it is time for a rebuild.

time for a tranny swap to the 727 from 80 marauder sitten in the back of the truck i just knew it would go

You will need the 727 torque converter, and possibly a different flex plate. Check to see if the converter bolts match the holes in the flex plate. You will also have to shorten the driveshaft and change the slip yoke.

why? its also a 727 thats blown in my truck

Sorry, you are correct. The way you stated about putting in a 727, I made the assumption, you had a 904 in the vehicle.

Is the 727 from the Mirada, for a slant six or a V-8? It would be unusual to have a slant six 727 combo in that car, but they were available.

ya a buddy of mine his brother had 2 slant sixes from old derby cars stored in a barn he couldnt kill em but didnt think they had enough power.one super six from a 79 diplomat that i put in my truck ,and one 1bbl sl6 with a 727 that was from a mirada id asume the tranny is geared higher it bein a car what do you think?
