I have the first A-body 5 speed kit available from Classic Mopar 5 Speed. the quality of the kit is excellent and the instructions are better than most i have seen. the website is www.classicmopar5speed.com and you can see the kit for the a-body there. unfortunately, they don't offer a slant six option but i am sure they would be willing to work something out. let me know what you think.

V-8 or not, keep us posted on the installation. I'm wondering what parts (if any) could be used to help with a T-5 install...

Congrats!

no, i'm sticking with the slant.

they were kind enough to provide the blueprint of the bolt pattern of the tremec tranny so i can make an adapter. if you go to the website you can see the trans mount and in the installation notes you can see the cutting that has to be done.

because of my current situation, i won't be able to start putting it in for a while. but i have it!

let mr know how their crossmember works out. that has been my biggest problem with a five speed swap. I built my own but I'm not really happy with it. of course the one they make wont fit my car either.

Is it my imagination or does that cross member just wrap up around the whole tranny? It looks rather interesting...

you gotta cut out all the stock frame hoop. it looks like that crossmember is two peices. one bolts in the stock holes and stays in permanent. the other piece bolts in the bottom to hold the trans in place. the top peice replaces the hoop. I did not. however the crossmember I made is substantially beefier then the stock peice.

64 4speed has it. they also use a rubber GM trans mount. the tranny has two options for speedometer, the factory mechanical or electronic.

i don't know if you caught in the notes that the seat has to stay in the rear most position to clear the tranny/crossmember. to be able to move it forward you have to space it up one inch.
