Post subject: | gear oil |
75W90 80W90 85W140. I listed those in order of how hard they are to pump into your tranny/rear. I usually use 80W90 in everything from my 833OD to my rear ends to the gear case on my harley to the lower unit on my OLD boat. It seems to get the job done. For gear oil I have steered away from synthetics after reading somewhere that they don't climb the gears the way the dino stuff does. I would get a gallon and a pump top cap to make things go A LOT easier no matter which weight you go with. Just ask at any auto parts store for the gear oil and get the most affordable gallon. To make the oil flow a bit easier, you can set the gallon out in the sun while the fluids drain from the tranny and rear. It'll ease the flow. Hope that helps a bit. sb |
