Finally got my new 22" radiator painted and installed yesterday, but not without issues. I went to install it, thinking everything would line up just like with the 18" radiator. WRONG! It rests against the lower support piece (the fore/aft piece of steel that connect the K member to the bib), and none of the holes lined up, so I had to pull it out, drill new holes, then make sure the hood wouldn't hit the top when it was installed. More of an aggravation than anything else, but yeesh. Be warned if you replace your 18" rad with a Proliance 22" unit: you're probably gonna have to break out the drill. |

I'm glad I haven't found a box for that shroud at work yet... your new alignment may not work as well, if you had to re drill the mounts.... -D.Idiot |

Was the lower-radiator-support-thing bent at all? When I installed mine it was slightly bent, causing the radiator to sit higher than it was supposed to. I bent the metal piece back down and it fit perfectly. I'm not an expert on radiators at all, so different 22" radiators might fit differently. |

Yeah I'm thinking I'll be best off just getting a fixed fan to replace my (nearly) broken one and going ahead with the alternator upgrade and an electric fan. Thanks for looking around for it though. Right now I'm just hoping I can get everything reinstalled and not have any more coolant leaks -D.Idiot Morrows, it was bent but it looked like all factory contours to it, nothing unnatural. The two top holes on the radiator mounting tabs needed new holes about 1/4" below the pre-drilled holes. |

When I went to a 22" radiator in my '65 Dart, I used one for \6 F-body with A/C. It required re-drilling the lower mounting holes, using a '75 dart lower radiator hose and an '78 F-body A/C upper hose. I also used a factory 5 blade flex fan. This required a 1 1/2" spacer, instead it the standard 2" spacer. |
