| Post subject: | throttle cable problems on romper |
well i have been very busy landscaping wich is hella cool, since i need the cash. i am doing about 3 to 4 jobs a day, but that means i am also driving the piss out of my truck "romper stomper" today while driving down broadway my gas pedal fell to the floor and i was able to coast out of traffic and get pulled off. hmm i bet it's that funky throttle cable. i opened the hood and removed the air cleaner, yep! the cable came loose. now for you guys that haven't seen my truck the throttle cable end has been broken off and wraped around a wingnut, bolt and washer. so i wraped it around again tightened down the wingnut and drove off to finish my work. after i finished up a yard in forest hights, i went to start the truck and drive it to st. johns for the next job. well same thing happened again. so i re-attached it and was able to drive the truck and finish todays jobs. and the truck made it home with out any further problems. so my question is where can i buy a new 1bbl throttle cable with out going up to wildcat and getting gouged for one? because i would hate for this to happen on the freeway or in some place where i cannot get out of traffic and the cable is getting shorter everytime i have to wrap it around the bolt. thanks! |

Take a look on RockAuto. I see two options there for that part for that truck, for under $20...which means you ought to be able to source this part locally, easily — Baxter's? — using the P/Ns from RockAuto. |
