I tried finding a post about the differences in the blocks based off their designations marked on the side, but I could not find anything.

So if this has been answered before, just point me in the right direction, and I'll be on my way.


What is the difference between the "BH" cast block, and the "AM" cast block?

What are the differences between earlier blocks without these designations compared to those with said markings?

"BH" SL6 blocks have some additional metal in them and seem to be the best quality casting. "AM" blocks are also high quality castings but these do not have the extra ribs.

With 3 freeze plug blocks, I like the "half moon" castings. These blocks have a row of half circle bumps above the freeze plugs, again, it is extra metal in the block.

Ok, how about a "BF" block? I've never even heard of one.
