I can't figure out how to get the key barrel out of the manual rear window crank on my wag. Any Ideas? Thanks - M |

i'm holding my extra crank (insert joke here) and you gotta revove it from the car. Open tailgate insert (million screws) and remove the 3 mounting screws. Remove crank, inside the splined collar there is a "pin" push in this pin(finger works) then twist spline collar left and slide out collar to expose tumbler. Pull the pin on lock and voila! |

Thanks for the reply, but my assembly seems a bit different. The tumbler cylinder is wholly encased in a solid housing. There is a tiny hole in one side of the housing which would seem to access some kind of spring clip but I have had no success. |

I've not dealt with your assembly, but often automotive locks require that the key has to be in and turned to a certain position for the spring relase to work. When I haven't had the key, I've drilled down through the hole, destroying the retaining clip, and then slid the cylinder out that way. |
