 Post subject: 1945 rebuild kit

Got home from work yesterday and my carburetor (1945) was leaking fuel all over my intake manifold. Not a severe leak, but a drip about every five seconds. From the looks of it, it's seeping through a gasket. Checked out CSK and they've got rebuild kits from Niehoff, BWD and GP Sorenson. Which one has the higher quality parts to do the job?

Only reason I'm even bothering with it is my other engine isn't ready to be installed yet.

See if you can scare up a Walker kit. If not, I'm pretty sure all three of those brands you mention are the same kit in a different box.

Make sure the float is not hanging up on the sides of the bowl. If it is sticking you may have to reshape the horse shoe that attaches to the floats so it will swing freely.

and they are all marketed by Standard Motor Products...

Make sure to replace the float all together as they are nitrophyll and they can get old and sink.
