Hello all, Ive got a 65 valiant 2 dr. and the previous owner painted the entire car including over the roof rail weatherstripping (or is it called drip rail?)

Where some of the paint is removed, the weatherstrip is crumbly and old...anyone know how to replace this stuff and where to get it?

Would self leveling seam sealer work?
I thought I should ask before I start removing it
thanks!!

Are you talking about the rubber weatherstripping under the drip rail? Like this: http://nicksclassicparts.com/New%20Page ... ipping.htm

The reason why I am confused is that you mentioned self leveling seam sealer that is used on top (if you will) of the roof rail.

You can either use self-leveling seam sealer or the traditional seam sealer. With the traditional "caulk" type you will have to smooth it out by applying thinner or reducer to your finger and wipe it smooth.
It's kinda hard to describe how to do it so practice on something else first.
