Hi guys,

Went to install a new set of cam bearings and ran into a bit of trouble. The REAR two bearings went in fine, but the front two are LOOSE -- as in, they slide right in and through with just a finger!!

Are the cam bearings different sizes maybe -- like did I smash the bigger bearings in the smaller holes at the rear of the block and now the smaller bearings are too small for the bigger holes up front?? Or did I just get a set of bad bearings??

I've searched the threads here but can't find any information about this particular aspect of cam bearings... any ideas or knocks on the head would be greatly appreciated!! Thanx!!

Yes, the cam bearings are different size. Smallest to the rear. This way you don't have to drive them through each bearing bore on the way to their "home". You need a new set of bearings. My box of Dura-Bond cam bearings has the part number of each individual bearing listed next to their position in the the engine.

Make sure you get the oil holes lined up with the block passages with the new set!
