Hiya guys! I havn't been on in awhile because I've been busy with college starting and all, so I had to put my project truck on hold. Anyway, the other day I was taking it for a ride when all of the sudden my clutch pedal dropped to the floor. |

there are a couple of business names that do the manual tranny items... I've used Passon Performance successfully, others have used Brewer's... I think both have similar items, so pick and choose what you are looking for. good luck, -D.Idiot |

There are nylon bushings that go on the balls, and fit inside the shaft. |

| Post subject: | Another question! |
Hey thanks guys for the help but I have another stupid question, how do I know which one will fit? I noticed they have them for the b, e, or c body's? By the way I have the high mounted starter if that helps any...Thanks again! Ps: I think mine might be an A body style but I just want to make sure... |

Did you get Charlie's point? Were the bushings in the torque tube when ball seemed too small? The balls are about 5/8 inch. The bushings have a hollow that fits around the balls.

It didn't even have the right bolts in the brackets so i'm thinking they must have forced in the shaft and threaded the bolts in enough so it would pull out from the bushing. I've only driven the truck a few times so I never noticed the problem and therefor I can only guess what may have happend. Thanks for your reply though!!! |

Something really weird is going on here.I have two. One stud is 2 inches. One stud is 2.5 inches. Don't know what yours is. Maybe someone put in the wrong (too short) Z-bar? Used a car part instead of truck part when piecing a vehicle together from bits and pieces? Maybe someone mounted the engine off center? If the mounting bolt holes aren't boogered up you might possibly use longer bolts and shim the stud mount out enough to put it in the right position? |

I'm not sure either...i'm just going to order the kit and replace both studs, bushing, etc. myself and see what happens. My question now is which kit would I get for my truck??? |

If the z-bar is wrong there might not BE a right kit for it.

Start from the begining, please. Year, model and engine & trans combo? Generally, most hard (metal) truck and car clutch linkage parts do not interchange. As mentioned, the nylon bushings do interchange between most torque shafts (z-bars). There are different bellhousing side ball stud brackets for some /6, SB, and BB applications, (I'm assuming you have a /6), so knowing what you need is critical to getting the right pieces. You need a matched set consisting of a /6 BH side ball stud bracket and and /6 torque shaft, otherwise it'll be too narrow width-wise. |

Thanks for the reply! I guess the only question that remains is where can I find these parts? I've been looking all over and I can only find a couple, one of which looks like mine but is not for a truck. |

Try posting in the forum classifieds over at www.moparts.com for starters. Call your local salvage yards and ask what they have, too. |
