Present configuration:
225 ci 1968 block, 77 head, aftermarket cam of unknown dimension, standard compression ratio, clifford intake & headers, and Holley 4 bl #4160, 409 transmission, and 3.55:1 rear end.

11 R mechanical advance, 7R vacuum advance, points distributor converted to EL.

Hey,

you know about opinions....opinionated folks have em. If you don't have any headwork done, no valves changed out, etc. you are basically stock, even with a 4bbl. If you haven't done any plotting of your advance curves now, you should before you go tweaking vac. cans. For your purposes about any can will do just fine. Just look at the tables of data for various cans in different threads here. JWithout some data collection and curve plotting you really don't know what you want to do, so just try turning your can in and out and see what happens.

These SL6 engines love loads of advance if you get rid of the EGR and OSAC.
I like all the part throttle spunk and pep I can get. :D
A 11R pod will do that. I think my favorite has got to be the VC-208. It can be adjusted from mild to wild, and provides some pretty nice mileage as well. I know several others have tried it and found it to be very adjustable to suite their tastes.

My car is a blast to drive. Very sensitive to throttle changes and the power is right there.

Might as well have some fun with the car, give it a try along with a distributor recurve. The VC-208 is just frosting on the cake.

I don't think his '67 ever talked that language... in fact most mopars didn't use those until the early 70's....

the points distributor plate has a slightly different configuration than the EI pickup plate... they use the long arm that hooks the other way type of advance pod... the EI uses the more common short hook version... the EI pickup plate has a hole for the points Vacc. pod... but recent recurving has shown the points arm moves the pickup a bit the wrong way before it starts it's advance....
