I have a 87 Dodge Ram slant 6. I think my converter is stopped up. Can I just remove it?
I don't need a emission inspection in my location.
Seems like it will run better without it.

You may well be right about the converter being clogged; catalytic converters and carburetors didn't get along well with each other even in the best of circumstances. If you have no emission test to pass, then yes, you can just install a pipe in place of the converter(s). Some of these '87s have two converters, one right up at the front of the headpipe just below the manifold.
