| Post subject: | Master Cylinder re-location adapter |
To make an intake manifold conversion fit into the engine bay on this 83 D-150 I may need to move the master cylinder / brake booster over, maybe a couple of inches. Any info on a master cylinder kit / adapter to help this along? thanks |

The only car that used anything close were the 1968 Hemi Barracudas and Darts and they didn't move the master cylinder that much. They were also for the 4-bolt master cylinders. My '74 D100 Club Cab had manual brakes. Would getting rid of the booster get you enough clearance? Have you done a mock-up to see how much clearance you need? Are you dead set on using this particular manifold? |

not dead set on that intake, but it could work well, I agree the mock up is the next step, |

There is a guy on www.moparts.com who sells an adapter to move the master over some. It also uses the later 2 bolt aluminum master. IIRC, his name is GregZ, or maybe Zippy. |

exactly WHAT inake setup are you wanting to use? If it's on your truck, I can't imagine that space would be a problem, with a /6 and any manifold you'd wanna use. the ones I've worked on, you could practically climb inside the eng compartment, to work on the engine. |

If he has power brakes and the Hpak manifold it's pretty close to the front of the master cylinder in a truck... if it had manual brakes, it's a no prob deal....-D.Idiot |

i wouldnt move the master cylinder. it its pretty big engine bay under the hood of my d150 and i could just cut a slot in each of the engine mounts and move the engine over atleast 6inches just my idea though donno if it would work.  edit: that might impact the placement of the drive shaft for the rear end |
