Ok I got 1.72 chebbie valves now 11/32 stem single lock for the intake does anyone know what valve would be the next size up in diameter? I'm thinking 1.80 area but some where I saw a 1.78 valve. |

Actually the Engnbldr intake is 1.70". 1.72 is actually a pretty good size. Going larger may not help and may even hurt performance. |

The valves enginebldr lists for the slantsix are 3/8 stem. Mopar demon stated he has 11/32 stem valves, now, that means he has 11/32 guides. I would contact engnbldr, and see if he has any 11/32 stem valves that would work. Also there is probably, a valve from a chevy distributer that will work. |

You can always have the valve turned down to fit your application too. |

There is a 3/8 stem Mopar BB exhaust valve at 1.74 and an oversize at 1.80 I have used these as intake valves on Slants. As noted, you do not really need to go that big in order to get good flow. DD |

SBC 1.72 valves work very well. SB Ford 1.78s are a good step up, but not necessary for most bore sizes and builds. Lou |

The bigger size valves flow real good on a flow bench. Same can not be said when the head is on a running motor. |

Unless you are pepared to spend a lot of time to do what is necessary to make bigger valves work you are wasting your time. Optimize the 1.72s and then see where you are at. I have 1.72 intake and 1.50 exhaust valves in my motor and it took a lot of millwork/relieving to make that half right......... |
