I've got an '81 D150 with the "lean burn" computer. The previous owner cut the lead and removed the Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) for the computer, apparently thinking it was for the idiot light, and replaced it with a sensor for an aftermarket temp gage. Gee, ... I wonder why it doesn't run so good?

I'm amazed it runs as well as it does, it is drivable, just doesn't run quite right, but if a $10 sensor will help it, I'll do that until I rip the lean burn out next spring.

The local dealer's computer listings won't go back older then '84, and the likely canidate from an '84 is listed as NLA and the chian stores tell me "it is not required on this vehicle"

Does anyone have an '81 D150 lean burn without a feed back carb that can get the number off of their CTS or a picture / description of what it looks like?

It is the larger one located at the front of the cyl head, the smaller one on the side is for the gage.

Looks like the one you need is a Standard-BlueStreak #TX7.
