I have decided to do the turbo slant instead of going v8. Her eis where I need information.

I have ran turbo blow through setsups before and the carb thing really does not scare me... This car might see the occasional weekend drive to town and back home. So driveability is something I can live and fight with.

I already have a new Intake 4v, a 600dp carb, a turbo off of GN and another Intercooler... My wife ran over the old one.

The question is I want this car to go into the 11's.... It is a 65 2 door dart 270 auto with a 225.

Would some of yall make some suggestions on what other stuff I need? Cam? I know I am going to have to change springs... Are small block checy springs good? i ran those on my turbo buick before... I am planning on a good bit of head work to be done also...

What about the converter for the trans.. A 3k would work?? Car is going to be 95% race car and 5% street.... SO huge radical cams are ok with me...

I think you don't want a big cam, but something in the 220-228@0.050" range seems to work well with the 225 turbos motors (others' experiences). Getting carburetion, turbo sizing/piping right, and headwork will be the biggest tricks. 11s are possible, but will take some doing.

I guess I should re word this.. I want to build a /6 Turbo race car... Car will be light as I can get it and keep it a streetable safe car... Should be under 3k lbs with me no problem...

So a small cam like the 220? hmmm....

OK, then 11s will be easier. My '64 Dart is under 3K w/driver and 18 gals of gas, so you can do it.

Shoot for making max power around 5000-5500 rpm, which means a big cam is not necessary. The fastest turbo guys have done this and made 400-600 HP around 5000 rpm. Biggest cam I've heard them using is 228@0.050".
