This weekend I trolled through the local junkyards looking for various parts. I know that the PartyWagon has been without a radiator fan shroud for as long as I can remember. I did find a couple of /6 powered cars, including a 76 Aspen Wagon and an 80 Aspen sedan. All of the /6 cars I saw were 1bbl cars, and the radiators were tiny in comparison to what I remembered in the PartyWagon.

I haven't yet taken measurements of my radiator, but i was wondering if the Super 6 package also got you a larger radiator compared to the standard /6.

Anyone know? Thanks.

I doubt the larger radiator is because it is a Super Six. Maybe the car had a towing package? A/C? Someone swapped in a V-8 radiator?

Reed's right; the 2bbl cars didn't get larger radiators just because they had the 2bbl package. They got larger radiators because they had the trailer tow package, or air conditioning, or heavy-duty cooling.

The car came with A/C from the factory, but no tow package. I'm guessing maybe that's the difference.

Was the radiator the same for /6 A/C cars as it was for V8 cars? Just wondering if I would be able to snag a 318 shroud for mine, if it would fit.

Not positive about the size comparison between the A/C slant radiator and the 318 radiator, but the 318 radiator should be a bolt in. If it is in your price range and is in good shape, grab it and stick it on a shelf.

The \6 and V8 shrouds are not interchangeable, because the fan cutout is centred on the V8 shroud and offset to the left on the \6 shroud.

The \6 and V8 radiators are not direct bolt-ins for each other, because the radiator hose connections are placed differently.

10-4 guys. Thanks for the help. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a /6 A/C car for the shroud.

I can't say for sure but I'd saw that the 1bbl cars were probably strippers like my 80. People that opted for the super six probably spent the money for AC also. I think AC is a bigger factor than the 1 vs 2 BBl. Ant yes the radiator on my 80 is puny but sewms to get the job wone well enough. There is no AC in mine and no radiator ahroud either.
