Which way does the distributor rotor turn in a slant six? Also, what year did the electronic distributors start? Thanks, Jeff |

Slant six distributors turn clockwise. Electronic ignition became standard in 73 (I think...) |

Reed's picture shows the weights and springs for a points distributor, without the 'governor'/limiter... the EI mechanism is similar, but has posts that are slightly adjustable for the advance springs, and you have a long looped primary spring instead of two full wound springs... FYI, the EI vacc. can is a different beast than the points vacc can in how the armature is positioned. -D.idiot |
