Hi guys. I have a feeling that this question has been asked and answered before but I can't find the direct answers too well so please bare with me.

I have an absolute stock 225 1bbl in my 85 d-100 with a 4 speed. I want to do some upgrades over the winter but don't have alot of money to do so. I have a line up on a clifford intake with a 2bbl adapter plate and im going to need a header too.

Will upgrading from my stock set up to this without having any head work done or a cam upgraded work well? Eventually those changes will come too but I can't do it all at once. Im hoping that with a fairly small carb and tuning, I can make it run smooth and still have more "get up and go" than it does now. Its a daily driver in the summer, and never winter driven.

Thanks for the help

You can definitely pep her up with a 2-barrel and exhaust. But you're going to want a cam, Cam. Maybe some ignition work. Welcome to /6.org

I would invest in Dutra Duals over a header system. Most aren't tuned for the slant anyways. Search is a great tool because most questions have been answered and can give you other ideas.

I second the "Dutra Duals" suggestion. Compared to headers, they will last forever. Also, they will not hurt driveability.
