Anybody have any tips on what type of distributer curve to shoot for with an '83 hydraulic lifter/cam engine in a '72 Satellite? Most of its life will be on the freeway, so shooting for economy and some good mid-range torque/power. Will it be different than a solid lifter/cam engine?

Can't think why you would need a different curve for hydro vs. solid lifters. Are you already running a recurved distributor from before?

Eric-

Quite a bit of tranny fluid escaped from that torque converter. I'll bet that I didn't put enough fluid back in. The dipstick read only one quart low, but we hadn't run the car very long with the transmission outside of Park, so maybe the converter hadn't filled up yet. Also, double check that kickdown adjustment.

Another thing we forgot to check was if the vibration dampener had slipped. I set the timing at about 9 BTDC, but if the dampener has slipped, who knows where the timing mark really is. That also might be why the engine is only getting 15 inches of vacuum. The motor really liked it when I advanced the timing, so it might be a slipped dampener.
