SNAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! Been contemplating getting a 1974 B200 SL6, auto. w/ 50 something thousand on it. Was a delivery van for a hospital in topeka falls, tx. It has a pretty fresh rebuild on both the engine & trans.(24m miles on each) All paperwork is available. I just wonder about parts being available for this old of a vehicle, or do I need to buy an extra van for parts? Maintanance related stuff, I mean like brakes, shocks, things to keep it going down the road. HELP! :?: [/b]

Welcome on the board. Yup, parts availability should seldom be a problem for that van. The B-vans changed very slowly over their long run from 1971 through 2003 or so.

And thanks, to for the welcome aboard, part-ner. Am delighted to hear we have access to keeping a giant step ahead of the obsolecence the mfg's plan into todays vehicles. I'll be checking out the "vannin" site, too. From what I've seen on SL6 so far, I am very impressed with the collective knowledge base your forum has. Also, some of the jokes you incorporate in the replies, I stand back laughing, WELL DONE!!!
